Qatari club Al-Sadd announced on Thursday via its official account on 'X' the appointment of Italian coach Roberto Mancini as the new head coach of the first team. He replaces Spanish manager Felix Sanchez, who was dismissed from his post last October due to poor results. Mancini had previously left his position as the coach of the Saudi Arabia national team in October 2024 after about a year, without delivering the expected technical performance at the time. However, he had previously led the Italian national team for five years, guiding the 'Azzurri' to victory in the UEFA Euro 2021 before resigning from his post in August 2023.
