UAE-Qatar Super Cup Football Tournament Details Announced

The organizing committee of the UAE-Qatar Super Cup has announced the details of the third edition of the tournament, which will bring together 8 clubs from the UAE and Qatar. This was announced during a press conference held today in the Qatari capital, Doha, in the presence of representatives of the organizing committee: Director of Competitions Ahmed Al-Adsani, Venue Director Abdullah Al-Manahali, and Director of Media Ali Hassan Al-Salat. Al-Adsani explained that the tournament, which features 4 teams from each country, will be played in a knockout system, with a direct move to penalty shootouts in case of a draw at the end of regular time. Al-Gharafa will face Sharjah in Doha to compete for the Super Cup, while Al-Wahda will face Al-Duhail at Al-Nayan Stadium to compete for the Challenge Shield, and Al-Sadd will face Shabab Al-Ahli in Doha to compete for the Super Shield, and Al-Ahli (Qatar) will face Al-Jazira at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium to compete for the Challenge Cup. Al-Adsani noted that the organizing committee reviews the regulations after each edition and works on developing the tournament technically and organizationally to ensure the best possible image of the event. During the conference, the preparations for the two matches to be held in Doha were reviewed: Al-Gharafa vs. Shabab Al-Ahli for the Super Cup, and Al-Sadd vs. Shabab Al-Ahli for the Super Shield. Abdullah Al-Manahali confirmed that the match between Al-Gharafa and Shabab Al-Ahli will take place on January 22 at 7:00 PM Doha time at Thani bin Jassim Stadium, with gates opening for the public at 4:00 PM, noting the readiness of the facilities and full coordination with security authorities. The match between Al-Sadd and Shabab Al-Ahli will be held on January 24 at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium. It was confirmed that dedicated fan zones will be set up in both stadiums, along with fan activities and prize draws, in coordination with the participating clubs. Ali Hassan Al-Salat confirmed that tickets have been on sale since January 11 through the online platforms of the UAE Professional League and the Qatar Stars League organization. He stated that 75% of the tickets for the Al-Sadd vs. Shabab Al-Ahli match and 50% of the tickets for the Al-Gharafa vs. Shabab Al-Ahli match have been sold so far, with sales expected to rise after the end of the 13th round of the Qatar Stars League. He also mentioned coordination with the "Hayya" platform for issuing media cards, which will be approved in the coming days, noting that Al Kass channel will broadcast the matches as the official broadcaster, along with Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi Sports channels, using more than 20 cameras to cover each event.
