
The handball team of the Sharjah club completed their internal gathering yesterday, which took place from the third of the current month in the Qatari capital Doha in preparation for participating in the 27th Asian Championship for league champions, which starts today in Qatar and runs until November 23. The "Mlekh" team will play their first match in the preliminary stage against the Kuwaiti team in Group A, where the Qatari Rayyan and the Bahraini youth team also compete. The head of the collective games department of the Sharjah club, Mukhammed Ubeid Al-Hussain, confirmed that the gathering allowed them to achieve the set goals both technically and morally, thanks to morning and evening training sessions, as well as the holding of two friendly matches with the Qatari clubs Al-Rayyan and Al-Shamal. Al-Hussain noted: "The gathering and the friendly matches allowed the training staff to determine the readiness of all players, including three new professionals - Qatari Zvarkovich from Al-Gharafa, the returning national team player playing for Al-Arabi, and Tunisians Raidan ben Mahmoud from Shabab Al-Ali." The new championship will involve nine clubs in the preliminary stage, the second group includes Qatari Al-Duhail, Saudi Al-Hilal, Kuwaiti Kazima, Omani Al-Ahli Sadab, and Iranian Mes Kerman.
