During the match between the teams "Al-Vasl" and "Al-Sad", an incident occurred related to the use of substitutions. According to the rules, each team has the right to make five substitutions in the course of one game. However, "Al-Sad" had already made three substitutions, requested a fourth, but then refused it.

This situation caused various interpretations. In some federations, it is considered that the refusal of a substitution is also counted as used. Thus, "Al-Sad" made four substitutions, which contradicts the rules and, consequently, will be recognized as having lost.

According to the report, the "Al-Vasl" team withdrew from the competition in the Asian Champions League after losing to "Al-Sad" with a score of 3-1 in the corresponding match of the Round of 16. Nevertheless, there remains a chance to return to the competition if the Disciplinary Committee of the Asian Football Federation recognizes a violation of the rules by "Al-Sad".

The second interpretation suggests that the federation's rules indicate that refusal of a substitution is still considered a used opportunity.
