The International Federation of Football (FIFA) has allocated historic prize money in the amount of 1 billion dollars for the Club World Cup. The prize funds will be available over the course of the next four subsequent seasons, starting from 2021. These additional resources were approved by the members of FIFA's Executive Committee with the aim of supporting teams participating in tournaments and their players. Each of the 24 teams participating in the Club World Cup will receive a certain portion of this large funding. FIFA President Gianni Infantino emphasized the significance of this step for the development of football. "*Due to this funding, we can improve conditions for clubs and players participating in tournaments, and raise the prestige of the competition as a whole*", he said.
