The guide of the Qatari leadership and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani called on Israel to engage in negotiations with the Palestinians to achieve a just and comprehensive peace agreement. "We need to draw attention to the importance of reviving the negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians," noted Sheikh Mohammed during a meeting with representatives of the USA and the European Union. It was also expressed the necessity regarding Israel's decision to expand the settlement of new communities in Area C on the western bank of the Jordan River.
