The Ministry of Interior stated in its statement today that the necessary legal and administrative measures have been taken against them, as part of the ongoing efforts of security authorities to monitor and follow up on violations related to the misuse of social media. The Qatari Ministry of Interior clarified that the Economic and Cybercrime Department of the General Department of Criminal Investigations managed to arrest 313 individuals of various nationalities on charges of filming and disseminating video clips, and publishing misleading information and rumors that could incite public opinion, in violation of the directives issued by the relevant authorities. In this context, the Ministry of Interior emphasized the importance of complying with the prohibition on filming, publishing, or disseminating video and audio materials.
