Qatar's PM warns of imminent ceasefire collapse in Gaza

The Prime Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, issued a serious warning on Saturday, stating that the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip is at a 'critical moment' and faces an imminent risk of collapse. According to the Argentine News Agency (NA), the high-ranking official emphasized that to achieve a truly durable truce, the total withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza is necessary, along with the restoration of stability and freedom of movement for the Palestinian people. This alert underscores the extreme fragility of the ceasefire agreement that came into effect on October 10, following negotiations between Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and the United States. While the agreement initially halted clashes, it has stalled in the implementation of its second phase due to key contentious issues, such as the disarmament of the Hamas organization. Furthermore, various Arab and Muslim nations have expressed doubts about the stabilization force, fearing potential confrontations with Palestinian militias. In this context, Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated at the forum that the primary goal must be to 'separate Palestinians from Israelis.' The same stance was backed by Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, who proposed that the international force be deployed along the 'Green Line' to verify and monitor the cessation of hostilities. The two-day Doha Forum, inaugurated under the motto 'Justice in Action,' is debating this precarious situation as Israel and Hamas continue to cross accusations of non-compliance.
