Majed Al-Ansari, a spokesperson for Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated at a press conference in Doha that Qatar remains in close contact with Washington and is looking for a diplomatic solution to the crisis. Earlier on Monday, US President Donald Trump told reporters that the United States had held talks with Iran, and that both sides have 'key points of agreement.' Al-Ansari clarified on Tuesday that Qatar currently has no direct mediation efforts between the US and Iran, but Doha supports all official and unofficial diplomatic channels to end the war. He said: 'We are in close contact with the US administration on this matter, and they have taken steps.' Tehran, for its part, has not taken any steps towards negotiations.
