Qatar Dismantles Iranian Espionage Cells Amid Regional Conflict

Qatari authorities confirmed on Tuesday that they had dismantled two espionage cells linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, amidst attacks launched by US and Israeli forces against Iran, which is now in its fourth day of armed conflict. According to a report from the official Qatar News agency, the operation took place in a context of maximum regional tension, after Tehran once again launched missiles and drones in the Gulf in retaliation for the bombings on its territory. As learned by the Noticias Argentinas agency, ten people were detained as part of the investigation. Seven of the suspects' main mission was to collect sensitive information about infrastructure and military targets within the country, while the other three were assigned to carry out sabotage actions. Furthermore, the official report added that during the interrogations, the detainees admitted their ties to the Iranian regime and confessed to having received direct instructions to carry out espionage and covert operations on Qatari territory.
