Al Wakrah Signs Iraqi Forward Ayman Hussein on Loan

The football club "Al-Aqraa" with the eighth place in the Qatari football league has concluded a loan deal with the attacking player of the Iraq national team Ayman Husseyn from the club "Al-Khor", as announced in the media. "The 28-year-old forward, who has represented the Iraq national team, joined "Al-Aqraa" on loan until the end of the season," the club's statement said.

The deal seems to be part of a mutual operation, after "Al-Khor" also announced the acquisition of the attacking player of the Cabo Verde national team Ricardo Gomes from the club "Al-Aqraa" on loan until the end of the season. Husseyn played all matches for "Al-Khor" in the championship, not scoring goals, also missing the start of the season due to an injury received in the match of the Iraq and Oman national teams in qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup.

Husseyn has professional experience playing in the clubs "Al-Safaqsi" (Tunisia), "Al-Raja" (Morocco), "Al-Jazeera" (UAE), and he also played for "Umm Salal" and "Al-Merikh" in Qatar from 2021 to 2023. On the other hand, before moving to "Al-Aqraa", Gomes played for "Al-Shamal" in the previous season, scoring 12 goals in 22 matches, but did not show promising results.

Gomes previously played for "Fitoria Gimarais" (Portugal), moved between several clubs on loan, before spending two years with the Serbian club "Partizan" Belgrade. "Al-Aqraa" occupies the eighth place with 17 points, trailing 10 points from "Al-Khor", who is in the last place after 14 rounds in the championship.
