Baghdad: Zaidan al-Rab'i. The organizing committee of the Arab Cup in Qatar decided to suspend the Iraqi player Hussein Ali for two matches after he received a direct red card in the match against the Algerian team, as part of the third round of the Arab Cup 2025, which ended with the latter winning 2-0. The player Hussein Ali was sent off by the referee. Thus, the player Hussein Ali will officially miss the quarter-final match, which the Iraqi team will play on Friday against the Jordanian team. He will also miss the semi-final if the Iraqi team qualifies. In case of non-qualification, the penalty will apply to him in the final World Cup playoff, which will be held early in the morning of April 1st next year in Mexico.
