Iraq's national team coach Graham Arnold has confirmed the team's readiness for the quarter-final match against Jordan at the Arab Cup in Qatar. He stated that facing a strong team that has qualified for the 2026 World Cup is a real test for the 'Lions of the Mesopotamia'.
'Our team is aiming to give its all in this match to reach the semi-finals. For me, I am impressed with the level of the tournament and consider it a real test of what Iraq will show in the World Cup qualifying playoffs. The Arab Cup is a big and important tournament,' Arnold said at a pre-match press conference.
He added that there are injuries and absences within the squad, but he trusts the capabilities of all the players.
Despite the numerical disadvantage we faced in our last match against Algeria, we succeeded in creating goal-scoring opportunities. The coach also noted that the tournament was of a high technical level and the atmosphere among the spectators was exceptional.
