The statement read: 'The MotoGP World Championship confirms that the Qatar Grand Prix, originally scheduled for April, has been postponed to November 8 due to the current geopolitical situation in the Middle East.' It added: 'Following a detailed study and comprehensive analysis of the schedule, the new date was chosen to ensure minimal impact on the MotoGP World Championship race calendar.' The Middle East situation has also affected Formula 1 races, as the championship yesterday announced the cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabia Grands Prix, which were also set for April.
